Plant Based Eating

16 Vegan Indian Dishes

Every now and then, when people find out that I am vegan, the conversation comes up of, “what do you eat?” Finding delicious plant-based meals has never been an issue for me, but considering the typical American diet consists heavily of dairy and meat, I can see why this question is such a topic of interest for non-vegans. But to answer this question, I don’t eat an American diet. While there are vegan Mac n’ Cheeses and vegan Rubens, my taste buds tend to roam outside of the United States. I actually love ethnic dishes: Thai, Mediterranean, Lebanese, and Indian. Anything bursting in flavor. Most cultures have strong plant-based meals, seeing as how there are usually a type of grain and bean in every continent. Not to say that they don’t eat meat, but they tend to have more options for vegans than the America diet.

Today I wanted to highlight Indian food. I love the bold flavor that these dishes bring. The reason why they are so flavorful is that they use a variety of spices, from cumin to tumeric. These spices hold numerous health benefits as well, making these dishes tasty and good for you! So here they are, 16 vegan friendly Indian dishes!
