Did you know that your skin absorbs nutrients? Whatever beauty applications we put on, they slowly get absorbed into our bodies. Pretty neat huh? Skin and beauty treatments are another way can ensure we are supplying our bodies with healthy options. Just as people choose to eat organic, shying away from chemicals found in processed foods and GMOs, we should focus on what we are applying to our skin. Nature has been used for beauty routines throughout centuries, in many cultures across the globe. It’s the safe, healthy way to pamper our skin. I enjoy experimenting with natural ingredients when making my beauty applications. Often times I ask myself, is this for my skin, or my stomach? It all tastes so good! I make a little extra too munch on sometimes, and not only are these recipes tasty, they do wonders for my skin’s appearance.
I recently made another face mask. This one uses oatmeal, honey, and a splash of almond milk. Mmmmm, doesn’t that sound yummy? It’s perfect for those who have sensitive skin, as it gently softens and cleanses your face.
Honey – Containing antioxidants, Honey helps with a clear complexion. It removes dirt from your pores, and can help in slowing down the aging process, making your skin feel younger.
Oatmeal – Oatmeal has been used as skin treatment for centuries. It helps restore the natural PH balance in your skin. It reduces redness, helps soften and moisturize your skin, protecting it from future damage.
Almond – This nut is a wonderful source of Vitamin E, Fatty Omega-Acids, Antioxidants, and Protein, all of which help with improving your skin’s complexion.
Mix together 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp ground oatmeal, and 1 tsp almond milk. You want the consistency of putty to form. Slab the mixture on your face, and let sit for at least ten minutes before washing off with warm water. Enjoy the soft smoothest of your fresh, clean face! Yay for nature!
