Coconut Oil – Magic in a Jar

Reaping the benefits of Mother Nature, I like using all natural products. As I stated in previous posts, clean, natural products are healthier for us. By  removing all those harmful chemicals found in processed items, we are making a conscious choice to not have them go into our bodies and environments. Taking it a step further though, as a way to save money and reduce unnecessary consumption of non-biodegradable materials, I go to my kitchen cabinets for a lot of my product recipes. Many beauty and personal use items can be made with common household ingredients.

I am shining the spotlight today on Coconut oil. This isn’t just used to heat up and grease your pans, coconut oil has so many uses outside the kitchen! It has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, Vitamin E (good for skin and hair), and beneficial fatty acids. It is my go-to, and I use it for just about everything.  I’d recommend getting a large jar since there is nothing it can’t do. It’s quite a magical ingredient! So what is it good for?

Oral Hygiene

  1. Strengthens Gums and Teeth
  2. Rids Bad Breaths
  3. Whitens Teeth

Hair Health

  1. Defrizz and Shine
  2. Moisturize and Reduce Split Ends
  3. Strengthen and Lengthen

  5. Removes Head Lice

  7. Helps with Wrinkles and Stretch Marks

A large jar can cost around $10, which is a steal compared to all the products you’d buy to do what coconut oil can do. So what can you swap in body & beauty products for coconut oil?

  1. Massage Oil
  2. Make Up Remover
  3. Lubrication
  4. Shaving Cream
  5. Face Wash
  6. Sunscreen
  7. Body Lotion
  8. Tooth Paste
  9. Deodorant
  10. Hair Mask
  11. Lip Balm

What did I say?? It is magic in a bottle! Ditch those chemicals and store bought products and pick up some coconut oil today!
